Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort Celebrates 25 Years of Regenerative Hospitality
On October 18, 2025, Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort proudly marked its 25th anniversary, celebrating a quarter century as a pioneer in regenerative hospitality, a philosophy that goes beyond sustainability to actively restore and enrich both the environment and local communities.
Nestled between Belize’s lush rainforest and the turquoise Caribbean Sea, Hamanasi was founded in 2000 with a simple yet powerful belief: that travel can be a force for good. Every aspect of the resort, from its design to its daily operations, reflects a deep respect for nature and a commitment to lasting positive impact.
Hamanasi’s sustainability journey began with a focus on conservation and responsible development with innovative practices implemented that protect the reef and rainforest. The resort’s eco-conscious design prioritizes energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction. Over the years, reforestation initiatives have transformed the property into a thriving habitat where wildlife and birdlife flourish once again - a living symbol of rewilding in action.
Equally committed to people, Hamanasi has built strong roots in the Hopkins community. Through programs like its annual Backpack-to-School Drive, the Staff Education Fund, and internships for local youth, the resort invests in education and empowerment. Guests are invited to participate in meaningful initiatives such as tree planting, reef cleanups, and the Pack for a Purpose program - connecting travelers directly to Hamanasi’s mission of giving back.
In partnership with local conservation organizations, Hamanasi supports efforts to protect Belize’s remarkable biodiversity. Each of the resort’s 30+ guided adventures is designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the country’s natural and cultural heritage.
As Hamanasi celebrates 25 years of impact, its vision remains unwavering: to foster positive human connections within thriving ecosystems. And to ensure that every stay contributes to the wellbeing of Belize’s people, nature and future, all while delivering vacations of a lifetime to guests.
