Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach Celebrates 12th Green Globe Certification and Maintains Platinum Status for Third Year

Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach proudly celebrates a significant sustainability milestone, having earned its 12th consecutive Green Globe Certification and successfully maintaining Platinum Status. This achievement reflects the hotel’s ongoing dedication to environmental responsibility, innovation, and sustainable hospitality at every level of operation.

Earning and maintaining Platinum Status with Green Globe is more than an accolade it is a commitment to protecting the planet while enhancing the guest experience. Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has continued to lead the way by embedding sustainable practices across all areas of the hotel. One of the most impactful initiatives is the establishment of an in-house water bottling plant, which has drastically reduced the use of single-use plastic bottles. Guest amenities have also transitioned to eco-friendly alternatives, helping minimize waste without compromising on comfort or quality.

The hotel has also made strong efforts in sustainable dining. Over 30% of the current menu now features vegetarian and vegan options, catering to the growing number of health and planet-conscious travellers. Each dish is thoughtfully curated to deliver flavour while reducing environmental impact. These plant- forward offerings have not only resonated with guests but have contributed to lowering the property’s overall carbon footprint.

Guest engagement has also been central to Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach’s sustainability mission. During Earth Hour, the hotel invited guests to join the global initiative by turning off the lights in their rooms and enjoying a peaceful evening with battery-operated eco-friendly candles, provided by the hotel. On Earth Day, potted plants were given to guests, encouraging them to take a small piece of living greenery home. These interactive experiences are just a few examples of how the hotel builds awareness and fosters a shared commitment to sustainability.

In addition to its internal sustainability efforts, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach actively invests in environmental projects such as mangrove tree planting, contributing to the preservation of Dubai’s natural ecosystems. The hotel’s team regularly participates in various sustainable initiatives across the city, demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back to the community and supporting broader environmental and social causes.

As General Manager Michael Goetz explains, “In embracing sustainability, we're not just serving our guests but safeguarding the future of our planet. It’s not a trend, it’s our responsibility.” His words reflect a mindset that runs throughout the property from the kitchen and housekeeping teams to front office team where sustainability is seen not as a task, but a way of life.

These are just some of the many initiatives that have helped Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach secure its Green Globe accreditation year after year. With continued efforts to innovate, engage, and improve, the hotel remains committed to shaping a greener future for both its guests and the wider community.
