Royalton Saint Lucia: Committed to Sustainable Caribbean Hospitality
Royalton Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, proudly announces its achievement of Green Globe Gold certification, marking a significant milestone in the resort’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, operational efficiency, and sustainable tourism. The advancement to Gold status reflects five consecutive years of consistent performance, measurable progress, and a long-term dedication to practices aligned with global environmental standards.
Over the past year, the resort has implemented a range of impactful initiatives designed to reduce its environmental footprint while supporting the surrounding community. Efforts have focused on strengthening environmental protection through the expanded planting of native trees and shrubs, the use of eco-friendly organic products for landscaping, regular beach, property and community clean-ups, and continuous employee training to encourage sustainable practices across all departments.
Royalton Saint Lucia has also enhanced water and energy efficiency through the operation of a fully functional wastewater treatment plant with treated water reused for irrigation and the installation of solar lighting along driveways. In addition, a comprehensive regrouting of all pools has resulted in an estimated 10% reduction in water loss.
The continued operation and upgrade of the ARO (reverse osmosis) plant further supports these efforts by creating a self-sufficient, onsite source of purified water, significantly reducing reliance on external resources while generating average savings of approximately US$150,000 per month. Together, these initiatives have been instrumental in achieving Green Globe Gold certification.
This recognition reflects Royalton Saint Lucia’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and long-term sustainability. The resort remains focused on continuously enhancing its practices while delivering a high-quality guest experience that supports the preservation of Saint Lucia’s natural environment for future generations.
