Royalton Riviera Cancun Achieves Green Globe Gold Status for Sustainability Excellence
Royalton Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino, has proudly achieved Green Globe Gold Certification for 2025, recognizing five continuous years of dedicated progress in environmental sustainability and responsible tourism.

The resort’s environmental journey began with its first Green Globe certification in 2016 and has since evolved into a comprehensive sustainability program. Notable efforts include energy-saving campaigns, a reduction in single-use amenities, bulk purchasing to limit packaging waste, and in-room initiatives encouraging linen reuse. The resort also uses VeroWater purification systems, has phased out PET bottles in favor of sustainable alternatives, and regularly participates in global initiatives like Earth Hour and International Mother Earth Day.
Sustainability efforts extend to community engagement and biodiversity conservation. The resort is located within the Puerto Morelos Reef National Park and plays an active role in protecting endangered sea turtles. Over the past two years, 84 nests have been secured and 6,967 hatchlings released through a conservation program supported by marine biologists from Mexican universities. Additionally, Royalton Riviera Cancun maintains partnerships with 19 local organizations focused on supporting vulnerable communities, from women and children to the elderly and animal shelters.
